How To Get A Tourist Schengen Visa

How To Get A Tourist Schengen Visa

A Schengen visa application must be submitted to the consulate of the Schengen State(s) you want to visit or, if you plan to visit more than one Schengen State, to the consulate of the Schengen State(s) where you will spend the longest duration of time.

If you plan to visit more than one Schengen country, then you will apply at the embassy or the consulate of the country where you want to spend more time or in. If you want to spend equal time in all of the countries, then you will apply at the embassy where you will enter first.

It would be helpful if you went to the embassy or consulate with territorial competence for your country of residence. You should contact the central authorities (ministry of foreign affairs or immigration office) of the country in case you get any doubt that there is no consulate or embassy of the schengen state that you want to visit.

You can find out what Consulates are in your country or what Consulates serve the Schengen State you want to visit.
